December 2016

Los Altos Brethren School
Newsletter

The Christmas Season excites everyone!  We are feeling the joy and anticipation here at school too! This month, as we continue our quest to develop character, we are practicing COMPASSION. Your family might even consider this a way to say “HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!” We are collecting unwrapped toys for the Long Beach Rescue Mission. The toys will be collected up until Friday, December 16th.  These should be toys for children ages 0 – 12.  In choosing and giving this gift, we can give our children the opportunity to see beyond themselves.  There will be red buckets at both gates to drop your unwrapped toy.  God will bless your child by teaching through this opportunity of giving as they are the hands and feet of Jesus!

We wish all our families a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year!
The Staff at Los Altos Brethren School

SPIRITUAL TRUTH FOR DECEMBER

God’s Word teaches us that everyone is sinful by nature and cannot save himself.

“…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”   Romans 3:23

As our children better understand this foundational fact from God’s word, they understand more and more the deep significance of Christmas and God’s greatest gift…Jesus our Savior.

CHARACTER TRAIT FOR DECEMBER…

COMPASSION

Trying to understand how another person feels and acting toward him/her with care and concern.

And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32
